Living up to its reputation as the world benchmark for the food, retail, and food service industries, the first-ever ASEAN leg of the Salon International de I’Agroalimentaire made waves as it hosted the largest food innovation observatory in Asia. To this day, the Asian food market reaps the fruits of its success as the region’s robust potential has begun to take shape. Yet, this only marked the beginning of bolder and tastier things to come.

This season, SIAL ASEAN-MANILA returns to the Philippine shores to once again hold the biggest convergence of the region’s key players in the food industry together with thousands of industry professionals who are seeking to discover new flavors and explore the freshest and most flavorful trends and insights from the global food market. Slated to happen on June 17 to 19 at the World Trade Center Manila, the 2nd SIAL ASEAN-MANILA is bound to cook up its most daring and ambitious exposition yet.

For this year’s edition, SIAL ASEAN-MANILA brings its presentation to a whole new level as it proudly showcases 350 exhibitors from 16 countries – expecting a visitor count of 10,000 from 40 different nations. Beyond boasting an extensive array of the region’s homegrown products and services as well as allowing international companies the platform to introduce their innovations to the region, SIAL ASEAN-MANILA prides in offering its exciting line-up of pocket events and activities as a way to redefine the way they impart the latest trends and insights relevant to improve the industry.

One of which is the highly anticipated La Cuisine by SIAL, a key meeting place that will gather renowned chefs, from the Philippines and abroad, to conduct live culinary demonstrations. Positioned as a dynamic and interactive event, La Cuisine is an ideal opportunity for visitors and exhibitors alike to witness tried-and-tested concepts as well as new innovative ideas that make the process of cooking even more enjoyable, meaningful, and insightful.

Headlining the event is no less than Chef Sau del Rosario. A native of Pampanga, Chef Sau belongs to a four-generation family of chefs. After solidifying his foundation in the top five-star hotels in the country, Chef Sau travelled to France and worked with Michelin-starred chefs such as Christian Plumail, Jacque Divellec, as well as Bruno Loubet in London, among others.

In Manila, Chef Sau opened the Museum Café in Makati. Popularly called, M Café, the concept-dining destination became known for its artistic and bold take on Asian fusion cuisine. To date, Chef Sau is the culinary director of the Center for Culinary Arts and serves as consultant to two resort projects in Cebu and Palawan. At La Cuisine, Chef Sau will also be launching a book entitled 20 Year of Love + Cooking, a memoir, which features recipes that he learned throughout years and his travels around the world – emerging as one of the country’s most influential culinary icons.
